Dr. Michelle Rose has more than 17 years of experience as a veterinarian and as a graduate of the University of Tennessee’s Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) program, she is a valuable and unique resource in Marin County. Specializing in Canine Rehabilitation, she performs a variety of comprehensive veterinary services, from health examinations and nutritional counseling to dental cleaning and minor surgeries.
What Michelle enjoys most about what she does is knowing that she is helping her canine and feline patients live healthier and higher quality lives. Michelle never knows what her patients may need in any given day – one minute she might be presented with a hurt paw to suture; the next minute, an ill cat to examine.
When working with her canine rehabilitation patients, Michelle easily bonds with the dogs and family members who care for them. She looks forward to seeing her patients improve week after week and assisting their human guardians in supporting their progress.
Michelle was interested in medicine and science at an early age. While majoring in Biology at the University of California, Riverside, she had the opportunity to volunteer at a veterinary clinic. She was hooked! She went on to earn a DVM in Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis. Later, she became certified in Canine Rehabilitation at the University of Tennessee and interned at Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael. Currently, Michelle is working to become a member of the newly formed American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Michelle’s mother was born in Buenos Aires and, as a teenager, moved to the United States with her parents. From early childhood onward, Michelle spoke English with her parents and friends and Spanish with her Argentinian mother and grandparents. She is fluent in Spanish, which is incredibly helpful to her Spanish-speaking clients.
Born and raised in Southern California, Michelle moved to Marin County in 2004. She lives in San Rafael with her husband, Steve, their dog, Spencer, and two cats, Julius and Xoanon. When she is not taking care of her canine and feline patients, she likes to walk with Spencer, hike, camp and kayak.
